The Cincinnati Paralegal Association would like to invite you to remotely attend our November General Membership Meeting, which has been scheduled for Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 12:00 pm EST via Zoom. We are excited to announce that our speakers for November will be fellow paralegals, Kaila Glaros, ACP and Kristine Custodio Suero, ACP and they will be presenting on Maintaining Confidentiality and Privilege as Paralegals.
This session expands on attorney-client privilege with an in-depth discussion on the paralegal's duty to maintain confidentiality and how to prevent a breach of confidentiality or privilege. This session will provide real-time examples of artificial intelligence in the law and explore how to leverage the benefits of AI while remaining cautious of the data we provide it. We round out the session with best practices to ensure you can identify and manage potential confidentiality risks and always maintain attorney-client privilege.
Objectives:
- Understand client confidentiality and attorney-client privilege, including a paralegal’s requirement to uphold privilege and confidentiality.
- Explore what to do in the event of a breach of confidentiality or privilege
- Explore best practices in maintaining confidentiality and considerations when incorporating AI in a law firm
Speakers:
Kaila Glaros, ACP
Kaila is an award-winning legal professional who has worked in the legal field for over 15 years. She is currently a Senior Associate / Paralegal with a global audit, tax, and consulting firm. Kaila teaches Law Office Practice and Technology as an Adjunct Professor at St. Petersburg College in Florida, where she also serves on their Paralegal Program Advisory Committee. Kaila is a member of NALA's Continuing Legal Education Council as the ACP Special Committee Chair and a past member of NALA's Professional Development Committee.
Kristine Custodio Suero, ACP
Kristine Custodio Suero, ACP is an award-winning legal professional, a published author and a highly sought after speaker. A true servant leader, she has led the San Diego Paralegal Association and California Alliance of Paralegal Associations as President. Kristine teaches legal courses for a local San Diego paralegal program and lends her time to the program’s advisory board. Kristine serves on the NALA Board of Directors as the Area 3 Director and is the immediate past Chair of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and past member of the NALA Professional Development Committee and Continuing Education Council as well as past Ethics Chair. Kristine is a Senior Paralegal/Business Development Director for Butterfield Schechter LLP.
